In our current show we host three distinguishable artists: Francesca Fini, Michal Helfman & Olaf Kühnemann. one thing is clear – our space never looked so different. and we have launched our new video space in the basement – so there is certainly a lot to see.
Michal Helfman
Olaf Kühnemann – “Heartworn Highways” (27.6 – 26.7)
In our next show (which opens on Friday, June 27) we will host the exhibition “Heartworn Highways” by Olaf Kühnemann. In Heartworn Highways Kühnemann works impulsively. Everything derives from imagination, there is no clear narrative. Just like reconstructing a new language, this is an exercise for creativity emerging from the dead end situation of every day studio practice and the challenge for constant productivity and inspiration.

The Italian artist Francesca Fini will be showing in our next exhibition three video works. Francesca is an interdisciplinary artist mainly focusing on new media and interactive media, video and performance art. Her live projects, always addressing social and political issues, are mixed with lo-fi technology, homemade interaction design devices, live audio and video. Primarily interested in video and live art, she also creates artworks assembling performance art ‘relics’ or manipulating video stills.
Opening exhibition: 23.11.13 – 21.12.2013
Among the pieces exhibited in our current exhibition are Zoya Charkassky’s paintings. Zoya is an Israeli painter born in Kiev. A few years ago she was quoted regarding her unique outspoken way to deal with the Israeli identity & Judaism: “it was never my intention to shock Holocaust survivors. They have had enough shock and horror in their lives. For me it is about coming to terms with such things. If that’s the way a Jew is drawn – then perhaps that’s what he really looks like, perhaps there’s something to it.”
