Our first circle of Berlin-based artists (23.11 – 21.12)

Olaf Kuhneman, CaroussellAmong our first nine Israeli members of Circle1 are four Berlin- based artists. Olaf Kühnemann is a painter who became known for his intriguing imagery based on the analysis of his childhood photographs. Kühnemann has exhibited in several group and solo exhibitions in various museums and galleries. One of his recent projects was a painting installation in collaboration with Berlin based fashion label Eva & Bernard and  Alexander Ochs Gallery in Berlin at Mercedes- Benz  Berlin Fashion week .

Alona Harpaz is a painter who lives in Berlin for 12 years. she creates sensual, warm and classic worlds in bold colors, combining a wide range of media such as Harpaz Alona, Caprice Horn Saleacrylic, industrial and spray paint. Throughout the past years her works were exhibited in museums and galleries such as Sommer Gallery in Tel Aviv, Nicole Klagsbrun Gallery in New York and in the Martin Gropius Bau. Harpaz is also the co- founder of Infinite Earth – a nonprofit organization that initiates projects around the world to address the specific needs and support of communities, all funded through profits of art pieces made particularly for that purpose.

Aharon Ozery is an installation and drawing artist. Ozery initially came to Berlin as he was Aharon Ozery, Untitledinvited to participate in the Künslerhaus Bethanien residency program and afterwards decided to stay and work in the city. Ozery builds spectacular large – scale machine installations, usually involving movement and repetition. Some of his latest exhibitions include Other people’s problems: conflicts & paradoxes in Herzeliya Museum of Contemporary Art in Israel, and serendipity in Braveman Gallery in Tel Aviv.

Alon Levin, The everything of an almost future, Photography: Roman März Courtesy of Ambach & Rice, Los AngelesAlon Levin is an installation, video, drawing and collage artist. Levin’s fascinating voluminous installations are frequently made from common materials, examining socio- economic, political & philosophical theories. Levin exhibited in various museum and gallery exhibitions including Groninger Museum in the Netherlands, Sprengel Museum in Hannover and Ambach & Rice in Los Angeles.
